AutoCAD is a CAD software - an acronym for computer-aided design - used mainly by architects, surveyors and engineers, although it is not unusual to use it also by mechanics and electrical engineers, with the aim of creating projects in 2D or 3D. To the question what is AutoCAD one can answer, simplifying, by saying that it is a technical drawing program, a means of designing the plan of a house (also called planimetry) a section or elevation, all seen in two-dimensional or three-dimensional ways, depending on the AutoCAD product installed. It is a design tool with which you draw straight lines following certain commands. On the lengths that are delineated from them it is possible to draw what has been said or to correct what could lead to structural problems when the passage from paper to the practical realization of the project occurs.
