New Windows Server 2016 licensing model

In previous versions, the license was for two physical CPUs. The new license model refers to the number of cores. For example, a server of at least 8 cores per processor and a total of at least two processors, has a total of 16 cores.

So the license will refer to 16 cores per server. The best-equipped servers must be updated with additional licenses, available in increments of 2, 16 and 24 cores. In addition, appropriate CALs must be added for user or device.
