All versions of Microsoft Windows SQL Server. In computer science, Microsoft SQL Server is a relational DBMS (Relational Database Management System), produced by Microsoft. Microsoft SQL Server uses a variant of the standard SQL language called "Transact-SQL" (T-SQL). Both Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise communicate over the network using an application level protocol called "Tabular Data Stream" (TDS). SQL Server also supports "Open Database Connectivity" (ODBC). The SQL Server service responds by default on port 1433.
